The Blooming Heart

My art will always share a part of who I am and this particular piece will be one that is highly valued to my journey and start in the NFT space. I joined the NFT space in Feb 2020 and through the clubhouse app. I kept hearing about NFTs and finally joined in some rooms and started to listen. I quickly learned that this was a HUGE opportunity for myself to share my art and more importantly my story.

The Blooming Heart was my first piece that I minted to the blockchain. Such a powerful story of love, loss, pain and healing. My grandmother who was very close to my life, passed away in Feb of 2020. Her life was lived beautifully. Filled with love and family who always enjoyed her presence.

After she passed it triggered so much pain within my soul and grief. I wasn't ready to loose her and the love she would give and share with me daily. I wanted her to still be here with me, but that was not my reality. As an artist my inspiration has come from very deep emotions that revel within me.

I started to create a painting and it blossomed into the illustration "The Blooming Heart". It represents the story of Life by using an anatomical illustration of a heart and flowers blooming around it. One of the original paintings was sent to the Nurse who was caring for my Grandmother while in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The second was then purchased by a friend who knew the meaning and story. The digital design then came to life because I knew this would be the best illustration to create and mint to the blockchain as my "Genesis Piece". The digital is very different from the original painting by having the most color possible as a whole.

The Blooming Heart shares how the lives of our loved ones who have passed on will always live and bloom through our hearts. This reminder is great for me because I have my husband and daughters who interact with me daily. What better way to show love to them, then to bloom in their lives the values and love my Grandmother had.

This piece is healing for me because it reminds me of how her life will NEVER be gone. Neither will the lives of everyone else that I have loved who has passed on. This includes the life of my son who was only 16 days old. I know together they are watching over me and I hope to make them proud. This is the story of "The Blooming Heart".
